Young kids are blast furnaces so they will usually be warm when we adults are cold
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

Kids do tend to have that internal thermometer that feels neither the cold or the extreme heat. My kid only wants to sleep in his Spiderman sleeping bag even when it gets down in the mid 30s, when my wife freezes with a 0* bag.

Just hang him low and he should be fine. If he rolls out in the middle of the night 6" isn't going to do much damage.

I took my 2yr old and 4yr old on a trip 2 years ago. I reduced the size of their hammocks and made a closure strap just to keep the sleeping bags from slipping out of the Hammocks. Stacked the hammocks on top of each other and placed mine close enough to use the same cover for all of us. They slept great.

I just wanted to say your boys are so cute! And those are such great ages. Enjoy them.

Thanks! I'm proud of them and I agree, they are at that fun age to spend time with! They are my little buddies (much like my 19 y.o. was at their age. He's still my buddy, but doesn't care near as much about spending time with dad anymore!).
I do thoroughly enjoying spending time with them.

Last year I made two hammocks for my 2 year old and 4 year old and they slept in them multiple times last summer. No issues they can't wait to do it again this summer.

My son enjoyed having the extra fabric of the double wide hammock to flip over himself like a cocoon.

the beginning of spring i was taking my 2 year old to the river to do some fishing i brough her little hammock to perhaps keep her busy, she fell asleep on the way out and i ended up setting it up and giving her some shade and she slept in it for a good two hours and looked comfy

though im not sure if she would sleep all night in one, maybe if she was sleeping on my chest in mine with me.
