Another solution: use the new rental program from UGQ to rent a quilt set for as long as you need!

Clark makes a 2 person hammock.
I heard you can fit a kid or a dog in there too.

I agree that hanging under the same tarp in separate hammocks would he a hell of a lot more comfortable. She just refuses to let me but her a TQ and UQ. She doesn't want to spend that much money on something she won't use that often
Sounds to me like you'll need to at least temporarily compromise your physical comfort to appease her financial discomfort. Tell her your quilts are now hers, because you want her to be comfortable, and that you hopefully can borrow them when you go out solo. Then whip up a cheap PLUQ for yourself or get a cheap pad. Bring those and a sleeping bag when she comes along camping. Be sure to stoically argue that the hobo arrangement is comfortable enough for you while tossing, turning and shivering just enough that she realizes you are, in fact, suffering horribadly for her.

If all goes according to plan you'll be her hero AND she'll get you a new set of quilts by Father's Day.

Love that idea! I'll have to try it. Do you guys think that the tadpole will be big enough?

In all but the best weather, probably not. But I've been wrong before.

I'll try the setup when we're out this weekend and let you know, if the rain holds off!
