    Bug net induced calf ridge

Since bug season has started here in the Midwest, I thought I would test out my new Dutch 11' polyD with my BIAS nano buginator. I ran into a problem of the bug net causing a calf ridge (really a knee ridge) that did not exist when laying in the hammock without the net. The ridge also caused a gap in my UQ, causing CBS halfway through the night. I've used the net before with both a BIAS WW and a 11' Dutch argon and never noticed a ridge.

Is there anyway to reduced this ridge caused by the fronkey style net? Or is it caused by the less stretchy material of the PolyD?

I doubt the bugnet has anything to do with it unless you have it really tight. I don't even cinch mine.

My guess would be in your butt placement. I find that if I am not in the right spot I get a ridge from this spot to the gathered end. If I adjust my butt posistion and angle it goes away.

I agree with slivrsurf, I dont think its the net, unless the net is not build for the hammock. Meaning a 11 hammock and a 10 bugnet. I did this and realised I couldnt get and maintain a good angle and ended up like a banana.

Most nets I've seen would rip before they imparted enough force to give you a calf ridge.

I think I figured it out. When I have the bugnet on, I don't seem to get as diagonal as I do netless. Also it seems like the PolyD, being stiffer than the Argon I'm used to, made a slight ridge feel like a larger one. I'm going to give the PolyD a few more chances, but I think I like the feel of the Argon better.

I also just found out that the ridgeline I got from Dutch was the wrong length, 114" instead of 110". I have a feeling this was the bigger issue.
