    T-Bird Has Landed!

My grandmother always wanted a Thunderbird... the Ford kind.

I got one... the Smurfy kind.

1.6 HyperD Charcoal Gray w/1.0 Charcoal Gray cover. Triangles are Blaze Orange and Spectra Yellow (one of each, to tell head/foot apart easier. And a little twist, a long, thing stuff sack that fits more easily in the long pockets of my backpack.

So excited, I wish I didn't have to work today. Can't wait to hang this thing! Will post pics when I do!

    Thanks Randy!

Silly question here. I'm thinking about jumping into hanging and I keep seeing people do things to tell head from foot end. Why? Aren't they the same? Is one wider than the other or hung higher etc? Been lurking a while and this has always bothered me.

No difference between the ends other than one is full of sweaty hiking socks stench.
All those hours exploring the great outdoors made me more resilient and confident

The ThunderBird hammock has a dedicated head and foot end. The net and overcover zips on from the foot end toward the head end. Many people add different colored suspensions to their ThunderBird hammock to easily tell the head end from the foot end when they pull it out of the stuff sack.

Montalaskan took this one step further by using two different colors on the zippers hoods.

Thanks. But other than something like the Thunderbird there is not a differences. So when I've seen it, it must be people with them.

Our FreeBird hammock is one that wouldn't matter which is the head or foot end.
Our Darien model doesn't matter too much, except where folks want their zipper on one side or the other.
