True, but that is the only park in nj where i have actually seen the park rangers look through every bag, pocket, pouch, cooler, log, and under rocks. We respected rules by not bringing anything, and their search was intrusive in our site. They have the right, but it was a crappy experience to be harassed with the extreme level they searched us.

Was that a morning or evening search? I like to feel fresh for frisking, body cavity searches and such.

They searched your bags? Did you give consent? The NJ Park Police are a branch of the NJ State Police, and as such I would think that they have to abide by the same rules of illegal search and seizure that they do in the rest of the state.

I'm a maybe at the moment

Evening, last light of the day. I only remember that part because they left the lights on in their truck.

By looking at the park site it looks like this either a hike / paddle in? Also looks like you need a Boat Ramp Maintenance Permit for any car using the boat ramp?
    see you on the trail,

Yes, there is no public car access to the camp sites at Round Valley. It is around a 3 mile hike in, or you can get there by water.

As for the ramp, not 100% sure, but I would assume you would.

You don't need a permit for canoes/kayaks. Just boats/motorized stuff.

When you stop in the office, they give you a tag to leave on your car if you are parking at the boat ramp.

Park Police are now considered State Police, Rangers are not.

"They" do not have the right to go through every bag, pack, etc. unless spotting something problematic in plain sight and then it must be individual by individual. Then again, who knows, maybe there is a 'buried' statute that says by using the park you give up your Constitutional Rights.

That said, who needs the hassle, best to just follow the rules.
