True, but that is the only park in nj where i have actually seen the park rangers look through every bag, pocket, pouch, cooler, log, and under rocks. We respected rules by not bringing anything, and their search was intrusive in our site. They have the right, but it was a crappy experience to be harassed with the extreme level they searched us.
Evening, last light of the day. I only remember that part because they left the lights on in their truck.
And i dont remember if anyone gave concent. I know i didn't
By looking at the park site it looks like this either a hike / paddle in? Also looks like you need a Boat Ramp Maintenance Permit for any car using the boat ramp?
see you on the trail,

When you stop in the office, they give you a tag to leave on your car if you are parking at the boat ramp.
Park Police are now considered State Police, Rangers are not.
"They" do not have the right to go through every bag, pack, etc. unless spotting something problematic in plain sight and then it must be individual by individual. Then again, who knows, maybe there is a 'buried' statute that says by using the park you give up your Constitutional Rights.
That said, who needs the hassle, best to just follow the rules.
