Yet another 2ndgen silpoly tarp thread!

Yup, here's another in charcoal gray! I finished mine weeks ago, but just finally got it hung to seam seal it today.

It's 11x9'6. I haven't wieghed it yet, but It should be around 15oz. I built snakeskins for it today.

The only surprise was the tri-rings that I used on it. When I was tensioning the guylines I heard a wierd noise. I looked up and the tri-rings on the ridgeline had deformed under the tension. I've never used tri-rings, but I didn't expect them to do that! I'll try and post pics of it tomorrow when it's light again.

I just sealed the top. I'm going to give it a hose test in the morning, and see if i missed anything.

Lol. I was under my new tarp today and had my son squirting it with the hose. I think he enjoyed it a little too much. We found one small leak so it was worth it.

Passed the hose test and it rained today also.Just need to wait for it to dry and I'll add the snake skins.

For those interested - deformed tri-rings:

I prolly had a bad batch. I'm not too stressed. I've got some split rings to replace them. The guy-lines seem fine, but they don't take as much tension.

    More Pics:

I put the snake skins on. I think they may change my life. They're so easy to make, and even easier to use!

What is the spacing between your tie out points? I am thinking of making a rectangular tarp and those seem like good spots to create sealing doors.

I do a 12' tarp with tieouts at the corners, then 3' in from each end, 6' between them. Works pretty well, very similar to what's pictured above.
