Well I just received a big package from ripstopbytheroll, including the new 72 " wide and several other assorted materials. So, I guess I need to get off my duff and start on my project list.

Just finished a 12 ft Dark Olive XL hammock the other night. Still need to add some bling to it (UQ hooks and storage) but an afternoon test nap went perfectly.

How does the fabric feel when laying in it? Is it firm or does it stretch a lot?

Its fairly firm - very little stretch. Very smooth and soft. More like cloth than ripstop nylon.

I just ordered 4yds of XL (grey). Now we shall see if an 11' x 6' gathered end hammock can replace my Ridgerunner. If so, then I may just have to purchase some of the 0.5 noseeum netting to make a good detachable bug net... and then some Apex to make an under quilt....

(not going the down route again. I love my down top quilt that I made 10 years ago, but I have no desire to do that again)

Nice. If you can send/post some pics of the finished product I would love to see it. I laid in my first 70" finished hammock a couple weeks back and even at 170 lbs, 5' 10" I don't think I'll ever go back to the narrower hammock. It just felt better IMO.

I also realized that we don't have any roll pics up of the HDXL. Now that we're getting settled into the new shop, I will work on that. I did add a width comparison pic on all the product pages just now.

I've got an 11'6" HDXL Gathered end. I've already got the double knotty mods in the foot end, and I'm thinking of adding an integrated half bug net into it. I've just got to decide which netting to do it out of.

Will do. I just finished it this week and haven't had a chance to take pictures yet. Very nice material! And the width is fantastic.

I started with 12 feet. Now at 11 works great! Slept a week at summer camp
