If the bug net/weather shield is to hard to zip closed than it's too tight, if not you're good. That's my only standard. I've spend 40+ nights in my nx250 and that's all I've gone by and I've always slept great. That was how it was explained to me here and from Clark reps

I have a NX-250 and just got a NX-270. I have a post and beam house and have rigged up the Clark hammocks in my living room and sleep almost exclusively in the hammock as it's much more comfortable than my bed. I used the sag in the weather shield to get it adjusted correctly but then keep that tucked into it's pouch. I sleep on a slight diagonal with the feet elevated some and am quite comfortable. No tossing and turning.

I do not use and see no need for a SRL in my Clark NX-250.

    3. toss in my backpack into the hammock
    4. If the weather shield is stretched out completely, loosen the head end of the hammock a bit so the weather shield is almost completely stretched but not stressed. If it's too saggy, tighten the foot end a bit.
    5. Step back some 5-10 yards and look at the hammock. You want the foot end to be elevated higher than the head end. Not by a lot, but it should be noticeable from the distance.
    6. Do some final adjustments if necessary to have the foot end elevated a bit higher while still maintaining an almost stretched weather shield.
Depending on your suspension type and weight of your backpack, you might have to take it in and out of the hammock a few times.
It might sound like a lot of steps, but after you've done it a few times, it won't take but a minute or two to get to hang perfectly.
I did this on my last trip and liked it; Thanks for the tip! My final adjustments included dialing out the calf ridge that can form under the legs.
