This last weekend the fam and I headed out to Ft. Yargo SP for a quick overnighter for Mother's Day. It was the perfect weather and a great site for a little glam-hammocking. My wife and almost 2-yo daughter loved it. In fact my daughter thrived. She played on the rocks, sieved pea gravel, ran up and down a hill, and stayed away from the fire.
This was a shake down in preparation for this upcoming weekend to Grayson Highlands SP and Trail Days. Everything went really well and we learned a few things regarding the set-up and ideas for food.
My wife and daughter were in a huge ground dwelling structure. They weren't very close to the ground though. The wife slept on a 24" air-mattress and daughter had her pack-n-play but ended up sleeping with my wife an hour or so before it was time to get up. I used my hammock which was the only place we could get her to take a nap.
We are all looking forward to this upcoming weekend and I'm very glad we got this shake down in.
I hope everyone else with younger kids is getting out there and enjoying what Mother Nature has to offer. Happy Hang'n
