Cuben Tarp for Ridgerunner from Hammock Gear!

I have no affiliation with Hammock Gear....but I do want them to create and sell a Cuben tarp for the Warbonnet Ridgerunner.

I'd like to use this thread to assemble ideas to design the perfect Cuben tarp from Hammock Gear. Call it crowd design. We hand the design to Hammock Gear on a platter and they provide the craftsmanship and customer service for which they are known.

My ideal Ridgerunner Cuben tarp would:

    1) Have the width of the Hammock Gear Winter Palace (10' 4")
    2) Have a 12' ridgeline length
    3) Have the pullouts lower like a Warbonnet Clouburst
    4) Have small loops to attach bug net just inside of the ridgeline tieouts (like the Cloudburst)
    5) Have doors on just one side.

Anything else to add/subtract? It's the conversation that will be valuable to Hammock Gear....or any other cuben tarp manufacturer that wants to beat them to it!

The HG CF3 winter palace is available in 12' ridge line length. (it's an option). I am sure if you are after a 1 off tarp then having the panel pulls moved lower and having the small loops for the bug net added can be done as a custom item. Whether or not they will make a Ridgerunner specific cuben winter palace as a standard offering will greatly depending on demand for it.

    Cheers

Brian - Yep - this thread could help them gauge if there is enough demand for such an item. I've read that the folks at Hammock Gear love them a Ridgerunner...so we'll see if they get enough input to standardize a product. The winter palace in a 12' ridge line is a great starting place in my opinion...but I like to hear other people's opinions.

When I ordered my Camo Winter Palace 12 footer a couple months ago, I asked that the panel pulls be spaced out for a ridgerunner and also that a loop be added about 8 inches from each end of the tarp on the underneath of the ridgeline to attach the bugnet to, which they did.

I would be interested in one if they made it standard. Flounder, if you don't mind me asking, how much did yours cost with all the custom work?

Thorwen did not charge me any extra for those two "mods". I don't know if it was because they were out of cuben at the time and the wait time was going to be longer, but either way I would have happily paid a little more to get the tarp just the way I wanted.

I think this is a great idea!
I believe the cloudburst not only has the pullouts located lower but I think they are also spaced to match the distance between the spreader bars though I may have that wrong. Also I think a 12'6 " or 13' Ridgeline would be more appropriate.
personally. I also would prefer doors on both ends, it just gives you way more options for almost no weight with Cuben.

I know they will do all this stuff but I wish someone would make it a stock item, I've all but begged warbonnet to make a version of the superfly like this.
...Tell me no lies, make me a happy man ...

I ordered a big square "cloudburst" tarp from Adam at HG. He put the pull outs exactly where I wanted them and it's perfect. I well 11ft ridge, but I'm sure he could do 12. It's 10.5ft wide too.
