    Greetings from Florida

Just wanted to say hi from sunny Florida. I've been reading the forums for a while and I feel like I've learned a ton. I have a question about bug nets. I'm trying to get opinions from people who have used a Fronkey style bug net vs zip up style like the war bonnet XLC has. Living in the Deep South bugs are a problem more often than they're not. I was wondering if anybody had experience with both of these in bad bug areas. And could tell me if the fronkey style closed up well enough to keep all the bugs out. I'm just having flashbacks from scout camp and know how persistent mosquitoes can be.

I think fronkey type nets actually do a better job than integrated nets. They definitely seal up well enough to keep stuff out. And when you are getting into your hammock with an integrated net, it's very easy for some mosquitos to follow you in before you can zip up. But that doesn't happen with a fronkey type net.

    Welcome to the forums, neighbor!

Welcome aboard from Lakeland. Can't advise on the pros and cons of the two different bug nets as I've only used the Fronkey style without the shock cord. I found getting in and out thru the opening in the early AM to be more gymnastics than my old body needed when having to answer nature calls. Even missed the hammock once and ended up sitting in the UQ. Without the shock cord the bug net just drapes around the hammock and being soaked in permethrin at the beginning of each season has kept the bugs out.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.
