Yep, mine was like a dark brown... Definitely not what I've seen in pics and videos online.

The color of most of the pictures online actually almost kept me from buying it. For anyone that's interested in one, here's a picture of my first attempt to set it up. There's a hill behind it, so I raised it higher than I would have otherwise. Still lots of coverage and plenty of head room. uploadfromtaptalk1432253232128.jpg
Very nice... We're camping this weekend, so I'll get picks of mine over the hammock, and a second one setup as a camp tarp to protect us from the rain.
Stupid question, but will this tarp be ok over the campfire in wet weather? It's pitched 7 feet high.
My Kelty 12 came today. I really like the color. It's brown like in crimsonvelos' pic not white like it shows on the website. It's really nice for the price. Now if my Darien would get here i'll be set. I still have several weeks though.
Have had my Noahs 12 for a couple of months now and am extremely pleased with it!
It's taken me through a couple of pretty hellacious downpours keeping me and my gear dry as a bone.
Paid $70 for mine at REI and feel it was worth every penny, would have been even better to find it at the Amazon price though...what a steal!!
After reading all of the great comments, I've decided to order one of these in the 12x12 model. I recently bought my first Hammock, a Dutch 11' NylonD. I've only napped in the yard at camp. But, I love it. I'm ready for some overnights. I do some tent camping on my motorcycle. I'm also getting into some backpacking. I figure this will be good enough to start with. I've been trying to keep the cost of equipment down until I see how I like hammock camping.
The questions I have are....what kind of cord and how much should I get? And is there any other basic hardware I need? Also, should the ridge line run the length of the distance between trees...or just to the edge of the tarp from each tree?
Thanks for any help you can give.
Most people use zing it/lash it for their tarps. For a continous ridgeline, you need about 25 to 30 ft of it plus 6 to 9 ft tie outs times 4.
