Excellent information. Thanks! If you don't mind, about how long (time not miles) is the hike from the scales to your posted spot? I was estimating roughly 1.5-2.5hrs depending on pace.

That sounds about right to me. It will vary a little depending on which combination of routes you take and which direction.
