Apologies if this has been asked before. I have a dozen tabs of threads I am reading on the forums.
Are there any good quality portable hammock stands I can purchase?
I have found a lot of DIYs, but I was wondering if there is anything simple, portable enough I can purchase.
Unfortunately "The Handy Hammock Stand" will not work for our 11' hammocks, besides it already comes with a hammock.

Are you looking for something to use in your yard or for car camping, or are you looking for a stand to use while hiking? Two totally different animals. Search for threads on stands, turtle-dog or turtle-lady stands, Hammeck sells one, or Tato has the parts and you can make one. For hiking, there is only one that I know of.....Handy Hammock stand. Made in England. Several recent threads on this subject.

Depends on how portable you need. If you want one pre-made, you can't get much better than the Hammeck Stand. I, too, didn't want to go the DIY route. It breaks down to about the size of a folding camp/lawn chair. It's just heavy (as just about any metal one would be)
I have the Hammeck stand and love it. I also considered the BoonDox Drifter with the extensions, which I still may try just out of sheer curiosity.
the handy hammock stand could be used for an 11ft hammock - presuming you affix the other end to a tree, thus saving weight by only needing 1
I saw the Hammeck stand in use for the first time this past weekend at NEHHA. It's AWESOME! I'm saving up for two to go in the back yard.

I bought the Boondox Drifter and had to send it back. It does not work with an 11' hammock and just barely with a 10 footer. I REALLY wanted to like it but it fell a little short both literally and figuratively. I went with the Hammeck stand and have found it the best alternative. It fits with 11' gathered end hammocks as well as bridge hammocks when used with their extender piece. As the other poster stated, the only drawback is it's weight. In fact I've started carrying it in two bags instead of one because it just seems easier to carry. I of course would only use it for car camping so it's no biggy. It's a high quality stand. You won't be dissapointed IMHO.
I will be using 11' hammocks. Looks like I will have to go the DIY route with a pipe stand.
Anyone have illustrations or a link for the the two hammock style from Speer's?
If I am going that route, I'll need to make 2 x two hammocks.
