    No good deed goes un-punished

Stray dog was found at my work, being as how I live within minutes of work I figured I would take the dog with me and ask all the house in the area if they had lost a dog, after a few hours of introducing myself and asking if they had a dog run away? I returned home with said dog. Long story short my wife decide the dog should sleep in the garage for the evening. The next day took the dog to the local shelter hoping it's owner will find the "good dog". I get home today go out to grab my hammock and superfly to get ready for a trip next week, and the strangest thing they both aren't hanging where the should be. Found the both under my work bench that "good dog" used both as chew toys. For a little bit I had thought about adopting that "good dog"
Right now thinking that isn't happening.

Man up and adopt the dog.

he's already eaten your hammock; it can only get better from here.

So where did you bury the dog?

It was a conventional opening, the equivalent of straying off the path in the wild woods in one age, or a car breaking down at night on a lonely road in another.”

    Ouch!

I did that once. Found an elderly dog at church and brought him home. Woke up the next morning with poop all over the garage. I was not happy. That poor dog was so scared being in unfamiliar surrounding. Found his home though.

At least the worst thing my cats do is seek out and destroy headphone cords to the iPod. They will ignore any other cord or cable that you put in their path but they will seek out the headphones even if you are wearing them. Nothing like sitting at your desk and the music cuts out only to look down at this playful little 'gotcha!' expression.

Sorry about the hammock and fly. Maybe you can take advantage of some of the previously loved ones floating around the forum?

Chewing human gear means the dog has adopted you or hates you. I bet the poor dog was stressed so it chewed, or the dog was "Lost" because it chews. Some dogs just chew more than others. We have a terrorist living with us, she is all of 4 pounds, she has chewed most of my towels, electronic wires, assorted coats, all of her gear, Anything left on the floor including my very old oriental carpet.

I guess doggie chewers are better than cats that pee on valued human things.

Congratulations on trying to help the dog. If you adopt it, take it to a gentle doggie school, you could train it to only chew approved items. My big dog knows which things are hers to chew and what is mine (never chew human's things). The tiny terroist has not firmly learned the distinction, however I am sure she will figure it out soon.

Starting to think this dog must belong to the warbonnet co. Brandon must have trained her to only chew on his products. Keeps customers coming back. Lol oh well stuff happens, now I guess I'll be the owner of said dog here in a week or so, unless the real owner gets her first. Free dog costing me 135.00 in fees plus a new superfly.
