Just got mine today. I gotta say the half- wit is all around perfect.
Looks like you won't be testing the effectiveness of bug net. Good sleeping weather though.
I just completed a 17 mile trip this weekend using a 'Half Wit' hammock. I got it just before I left and didnt pull it out until the first night. I put the suspension on it and looked it over on the trail. I trust the stuff I get from Dutch. In the woods baby! Things I liked; the red for the head end loop to indicate the head end when its in the bag. The modified mitten clip with the shock cord that holds the bugnet gathered up when not needed. I rolled it and bunched it and gathered it. The clip didn't want to hold real tight so I backed it up with a prussic knot using the excess tail. The clip and knot together kept the net in place even when getting in and out while moving things around getting in and settled. After the second day I decided I like rolling it best but the other ways work fine. Once in the hammock and in the footbox of the top quilt the bug net covers with only an occasional small gap. I'd looked at the bug net many times over the weekend and it does great! I liked the double 'Knotty mod' on each side at the feet. The double footbox mod and the tie outs on each side of the hammock make it feel, I'm not sure open is the right word to describe what its like in a half of a net. I liked the feel of being secure. It was roomy and I felt protected from bugs. I liked that all I had to do to tend to ben (my dog) was put either hand on my chest and slide it downward toward my feet and lift to get a hand out quickly. The modified mitten hook is easy to find and get hooked or unhooked even in the dark. The continuous loops are a nice size to work with. I used Kevlar straps and the adjustable clips from Dutch for the suspension. I may put cinch buckles on and see if there is any difference. The hammock and suspension weighs, in the double end stuff sack with the suspension I choose is under a pound. I forget exact but it was like 15.2 (I think) oh and that includes the double end stuff sack in the 15.2. I'm 5'11" & 230. The grey one, the one that's rated to 250 is what I used. I have to say the 10.5 length is 'just right' as Goldie Locks would say. The flattest lay I have ever had in any hammock I ever have laid in. I hung a ridgeline organizer that I had outside of the bugnet. Its still easy to reach and I didnt run into it or bump it like I would if it was inside the bugnet area. I like that its outside but still can be reached easy. So maybe Dutch will add a built in RL organizer option one day. Another small mod I'm going to make is a shock cord, line lock way to hold a pillow that's attached up in the head end. There is room up in there for some storage too. A gear loft/peak bag perhaps. I think this one is a keeper! Just saying. This 'Half Whit' is going backpacking next time I go. Nicely done!

I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.
