Question Using a Clark without the rain fly ?

Ive got a Clark North American but use my own tarp and not a Clark rain fly.

Normally the bungees holding the netting up are attached to specific clips on the rain fly, but i dont use a Clark rainfly

Queston is, what do i attach the bungees to that hold up the insect netting if i dont use a Clark tarp ?

I don't have a Clark, but my first thought would be to add a full length ridge line under your tarp. Then you could clip your netting to that.

I suppose the other way would be to tie up a ridge line from your hammock suspension and clip the netting to that.

I'm guessing you'll need to run a ridge line.

You can run lines to the trees from the bungee cords attached to the hammock clips where the fly would normally attach. Otherwise, you can add a structural ridgeline like RAW did. I did this myself recently, and so far it works well with or without the stock rain fly!

Oh Goodie! I will be anxious to see your setup on the hang next week...I really like RAWs ridgeline idea, but havent tried to figure that one out yet, will be nice to see hands on.

Likely places to look would be climbing gear stores. They're listed as being "rappelling rings" I believe...

Sure, you're welcome to check it out! I'm still playing with measurements to get the perfect hang, but the concept is solid.

I didn't get the Clark tarp with my NA and up until now have just run 2 lines from the bungees to the tree and it's worked out ok.
