    Lured any friends to hammocking?

Have you succeeded in getting any of your acquaintances to join you in the oh so sweet life of tree hanging?

You could say I threw a line at my friend, but it was Shug who got him severly hooked. I also feel that two other friends are starting to succumb. One started to dreamily talk about this wonderful fishing place where it's impossible to tent. The other one claimed that tenting is much better, but we almost had to use a crowbar to get him up from the hammock, so I don't believe him.

Please share any hints on how to lure more ground dwellers!

(I searched and even advanced searched for similar threads)

Yep, that's right, 6 friends. They all bought their own hammock set ups after I told them how perfect the hammock camping experience is. And, I'm headed out on a first trip with a 7th soon. All have been so happy to get off the ground and have no tent. The weather resistance has even enabled several to take on winter trips and enjoy that too. And, winter in the north of New England lately has made that quite an adventure, probably for you too!
Since I retired, some times I stay awake all day, some times all night.

Perhaps there should be a rite of passage for every hammocker where you have to plant atleast ten trees.

I have 9 that I can think of right off the top of my head. Old scoutmaster, Lil' Princess(my Wife), 3 sons, MIL and her sister, and two friends. Plus all the other people that I don't know if they picked up hammocks after I have done clinics for them. I am also doing hammock camping clinics all three weeks of scout summer camp this summer.

None yet. Most of my friends think they're too old or too fat.

I haven't, other than wife and kids. Some folks are happy with tents and that's cool with me.

...........but they are jealous of how happy I am in the mornings

Just the wife. Most of my friends' outdoor experiences are hanging out in the garage watching Baseball on tv.
