Video: How to hammock/backpack in Saguaro National Park

Another one of my little backpacking videos, in this case how to do Saguaro National Park near Tucson, AZ:

Not many people backpack there, as there are many other places around that don't require a permit. That means its normally not busy at all. All the backcountry campsites are great for hammock hangin, because you're at enough altitude for the pines to grow. No pics of my hang in the video, but here's one from the same trip:

Its my Streamliner DL with JRB quilts. Didn't bother to put up my tarp, as there was 0% probability of rain. It was a loooong hang between trees - elected to go that route for good placement in the site. Had my straps fully extended and most of my whoopies as well.

I really enjoyed that video! It was like something I'd see in a tourist information center. Not sure about thoughs cactus tree thingy s though. I reckon I'd need a spike protector for me tree protector, if I wanted to "try" to hang my hammy from them. Thanks for the video!

Nice video. I spent three months in Tucson when I worked with Border Patrol in 2006. We spent 36 hours at a time in the desert and I loved it. I loved the cactus, Road Runners, snake and scorpions. Oh. How could I forget the big freaking spiders and 12" millipedes. You just rekindled my memories. Thanks

I had my AHE Shangri La tarp with me, but as I mentioned I didn't bother to put it up due to the zero chance of rain. I need to update my profile - it has become my go-to tarp, great stuff!!

There is lots to see there - its one of those unsung national parks.
