    Hi there!

I'm a brand new hanger in CT. I just started fiddling with suspending my hammock yesterday and I think I'll be sleeping in the yard tonight. Woohoo!

Thank you for having this forum. I was back and forth from the comp to the trees a few times trying to get it right. I started off from a fence post but quickly realized it was too far away from the tree, I was getting the shoulder squeeze. A little bit of searching and I realized I needed something closer.

Thanks for the help! I think I 'll be around for a while.

What is the distance that is too long?
I've found 15' to be best.

The ultimate hang calculator is a great way to get close on the correct angle. Then you can make small adjustments to fit your liking.
