I have a CLO e of this stand and it works with a <10' hammock. I end up a few inches above the bottom bar, which presents a challenge getting in & out. But it serves the purpose for an afternoon nap. I use one of the small Byer travel hammocks with it.

This stand states that it is portable. For those that have one, how easy is it to take up and down? Also how small does it pack up?

My Ikea stand does not pack up easily and is heavier. It has optional wheels to make it easier to move around the deck but thats it.

There are a couple of You Tube vids on setup. It's just 4 star knob screws plus the hooks, less than 5 mins. The bag is just over 4 ft (Actual 50" x 8" x 6.5"). And the bag has room for my hammock and sm UQ.

So, the stand came in. I have it setup temporary as I need to rearrange the bedroom. I think I'll need to make a custom hammock for this. I tried my 10' 1.6 argon in it was having issues with the lay. Switched it over to my old 8'8" Castaway Hammock and that helped. The only thing is that it is a eno style tri-panel at 51" wide. I think a 60+" by 9' 1.6 argon or HyperD is the way to go. I might try whipping my 10' down to 9' first just to see. I would like to make a hammock out of a cotton sheet type material just haven't found anything yet.

I am hanging only a few inches off the bar. This is my lowest hang ever as I like it more at chair height once seated in it.

I did solve the slack issue that happens once the frame bends when in it. I tied some paracord to on yoke, then put it against the wall. Next I pushed on the other yoke mimicking the bending. Finally I tied off the paracord with a boline knot so I can tighten it as it stretches. This made dialing in the hang easier with straps and cinche buckles.

The bending is actually most from the the slack in the loose fittings being taken up. If this was all welded together it should be a lot stiffer.

    Good to know.

For an every night sleeper, you might be as well go with a cheaper, less stretchy, more comfortable fabric than HyperD or Argon. Just my two cents.

    Thanks for the update!

I find the parachute type taffeta to have more give and stretch than my 1.6 Argon.

Just switched out my to my SBP turned upside down so the net is on the bottom. It has a large solid panel compared to the castaway which has 2 12" strips on each side of a narrow middle panel. Fills much better w/o those seams across the knee and at the shoulder. I can get a little more asym also.

    Cool

This is the exact stand my hubby and I were looking at, but now I'm thinking it might not work, as I hadn't thought about the flex of the arms. I definitely have a lot to learn about hanging! Thanks for sharing!
