    Bug protection from underneath

Any suggestions on preventing Mosquitoes/Horseflies etc from biting though my ENO Jungle Hammock?
I've heard about soaking it in some type of spray but don't remember what it was.

Any preference between the brands... Sawyer, Martins, Coleman, or others?!

I'm sure they all work, I use Sawyer...keeps them from biting through the mesh when your arm is against it, good stuff, I always treat my pants and shoes as well before a long hike.

Good info on Permethrin use here:

Also, a UQP keeps them off the backside too if you snug it up (so no gaps are around on the edges).

Saywer has worked for me! Treated my tent also and that seemed to help. Next will be the hammock.

+ 1 on the UQP, that in conjunction with a treated fronkey style bugnet and you can skip treating your hammock IMO.

    oldpappy,

I can't seem to access that thread - any particular advice worth repeating? I've never used permethrin before - just lots of DEET.

    Thanks!

Got my Permethrin at Tractor Supply Company.

Powerful stuff. You hear the hum and then sudden silence.

But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. (Luke 5:16 NIV)

He said to them, “But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one." (Luke 22:36 ESV)

While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. (1 Thessalonians 5:3 ESV)
