where to buy can (beer can) opener?

    Hi hangers.

This might be a stupid q, in USA, but where do you buy the can opener that opens been can so that you could reuse the top as a lid.

I've been using about 100 Dollars in Denmark, where i'm from, and haven't forum not that just cuts the foldet rim at the top.
They all cut below that in to the wall of the can.

I'd bee happy if you would post a web shop that ship to Europe.

Thanks for the help so fare....

    Regards Jobbe.

They are called side cut or safety cut can openers. Most require a little modification to work on coke cans... especially the smaller cans you have in Europe. I'd be willing to bet you can get one from IKEA.

I have a side cut can opener but it doesn't work for beer cans because the top of the can is too high. Only certain ones work. I have a few cans I would like to use one on. It would be great if someone could start bringing them to hangs.

Here's one from IKEA. It cut below the rim, not through it, so the rim is thin and sharp. Not sure that is good. Another one I had (Kuhn Rikon from Amazon) cut to the middle of the rim, but bent in the top of the fosters pot. Also not ideal. Maybe with a little more practice?

If it is a top mount and cutting below the rim, you need to build up the boss that rides along the top of the can. Its a simple mod, you can just layer up tape to get the right thickness. The side mounts usually need the boss ground down because the rim has a smaller diameter than the body of the can.
