    black cat question

I'm in the process of making my pattern for blackbishops black cat tarp using his tutorial...I have made the catenary cut for the length, but when I look at my pattern it looks like the diagram he made, which should be a good thing, however the ends (width) of the tarp don't appear to have a catenary shape to them They are straight diaganols (looks like two triangles on the ends), my question is should they look like they have more of an angle, or will they stretch with the actual sil fabric?

Thank god I made a pattern first! Lol! So, I guess there are two calculation files and I used the file calculations for the width on my length side, no wonder it looked so funny. Still don't have it 100 percent figured out, but at least I've got two sets of numbers instead of one.

Did anyone else find this to be somewhat confusing or am I all alone here?

    Hi
The cat cut is only along the lengths of the tarp, not along the ends or width. Unless you want it that way but you would lose quite a bit of coverage at the ends.

Isnt there dimensions for two separate catenary patterns though? I'm pretty sure, because he remarks on how I will be drawing patterns on three sides (minus the ridgeline).

The cut on the sides is not particularly deep. Given a suitably long ridgeline you don't sacrifice that much in terms of coverage. At least I didn't when I made mine. I Think the cut was only 4-5" at the deepest of the hex. It's been a while since I made it so I don;t remember entriely.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.
