    Oregon Summer Hang Planning

Hey everyone Sunny here, I would like to organize a summer hang around southern Oregon. The state of Jefferson area. Please comment with suggestions for a time and place. I would love a backcountry hike in hang, but I'm up for a campground as well. Happy Hangin Everyone!!

Are there any hike in opportunities that you know around Crater Lake? It is still on my bucket list.

Hi I'm from Norway and working in a startup making hammocks.

Aug 22 - Aug 29 I will be traveling with a friend between Vancouver and San Francisco somewhere.
Where do you recommend? We will be travelling with a car.

    Greetings Mikkel !
My wife and I recently ordered two of the v3's : ) and should be hanging in them soon somewhere in the Pacific Northwest.

If by "Vancouver" you mean BC? or Vancouver Washington (state) ?

If you are driving down from V.BC the first night you might enjoy taking a break at a nice US Forestry campground about 2 hours off i5 just north of Vancouver WA (that would make it about a 7 to 8 hour drive from V.BC). The campground info is here:
recreation.gov site you could make reservations ($15 a nite), or there are ~2 dozen drop in/no-reservation first come/first served sites too (same fee) and the US Forestry webpage with further info. My wife and I were just there last week...the falls are beautiful!! :

If you plan more of a drive the first day there is a free-to-camp area located about 45 minutes east of i5 just south of Salem Oregon (about 3 hrs total further south on i5 than my first suggestion). It is an area called QuartzCreek / YellowBottom recreation area and set on a nice river. It is BLM land set aside for fishing/swimming/gold-prospecting (my wife's hobby and why we got into hanging). Here are some links:

BLM webpage info on YellowBottom. If you can't find a free site along the 11 miles of river (anyplace you see a fire ring on the river side of road, ~every 1/4 mile) just keep going up the road to about the ~12 mile mark and there is a beautifully maintained BLM campground called YellowBottom camp. The overnight fee is $12.

Here is a shot of the river...

    Enjoy!!
    Thom
Soon to be hangin/lounging in a Draumr v3 !! with wife next to me in her's : )
