Nice pillow. I will have a fully insulated footbox (quilt devoted as hammock quilt only) and sew a pillow like you too. I will use silnylon for the stuff sack this time and make a rounded insulated foot end and one triangle for the open side of the footbox with excess material. Hardware I use: one mini cord lock and one set of Kam Snaps on grosgrain loops at the head end.

I will use an old outdoor fleece jacket for my hoot and perhaps for insulated hammock bootys.

How's it working out? What temps have you used it in?

It worked out good. Slept in it several times comfortably down to the mid 50s.

Awesome, thanks! Thinking of doing this too. Have a 20 degree setup that's fine into the 50s or even around 60 without being too hot... This should work for the few hottest months of the year in my area, affordable and pretty simple too!

Hey Punk, Nice Job. This is on my bucket list of projects, but may go for a heavier CS to get into late summer early fall. I'm a warm sleeper so don't need much till below 50. You mentioned you shortened the length. I'm only 5'-8" and I know your taller than me so what was your finished length? If you did do Kam Snaps what size did you use and Pic's would be nice to see them in use if you get the chance. Hunter

I started with a 77"x52" rectangle, then tapered the foot end down to 42". You could probably cut this down a few more inches and have it be just right. Since it's a summer quilt, you probably don't need extra material to be able to pull up over your head and completely cover yourself in quilt.

I will try to sleep in woods too. In Germany it is currently very hot outside and we have also thunderstorms and much rain. It's time that I get my second tarp ready. Then I will make a acid test with all my gear.

I'm afraid that my quilts are much too warm for me at current temperatures of about 75-90°F. Most likely I don't need them.
