Damaged my XLC. What to do?

Loving my XLC, but since receiving it I have been less than impressed with the zipper. I have had numerous snags of both the hammock body and the zipper even though I am usually very careful. I wish the zipper was a bit bigger. The small teeth really seems to snag easy and it finally got the best of me this past weekend. I really got it stuck during my 4am tree watering session and noticed in the AM that I had damaged the mesh vertical wall next to my left shoulder.

Has anyone done this? Any advice on getting it repaired vs repairing it myself? I am sure I can email Brandon at Warbonnet but figured I would start here first. I thought about just taping it up with some black duct tape but am somewhat worried that it will spread and get worse. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I would do it the other way around...I would contact Brandon first. I'm sure you are not the first to do this. He may be able to help you.

    Yup, Brandon first.

We can only help you with DIYing a fix that Brandon may have already perfected. Good luck and the best to you.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Yup, Warbonnet first, when you design, build something and work with the product every day, you learn ways to repair the item. I am sure many people have had similar oops.

My way of fixing the damage would not be as pretty as Warbonnet will be able to do for you.

Warbonnet first....while you are waiting for the repair refrain from curling up in a fetal position as I would.

My new blackbird did the same thing the second time I used it. I learned the hard way that the mesh is very fragile. I sewed it up with some black thread and went hiking. I probably would have sent it in for repair, but I needed it for a trip that I had planned. Please let us know about the fix when you hear back from Brandon. I am still thinking of sending it in for repair, but my DIY fix is holding up ok for now.

The damage does not look that bad to me. Maybe it's just the picture.
I would spend my time figuring out how to operate the zipper so this does not happen again.
Maybe move around in the hammock so the zipper has a smooth path to travel.

I would probably just hand sew that back up to keep the bugs out. It's not really that big of an area.

i've used some of my girlfriends clear nail polish.
That does so that it doesn't fray and it keeps the moseys out.
