    My Sewing Machine

Well, it finally arrived. My sewing machine that I bought from eBay is finally here. Don't sound excited, do I? Guess why. I have the DIY bug big time and my sewing machine has no foot pedal and no power cord. Obviously, I'm not a happy (hammock) camper at this point. Just waiting to hear back from the seller, but plan on asking for my money back as it stands now. Of course, I'm more than a little PO'd that I can't do any of the DIY stuff that I planned on starting to attempt, the first of which was going to be a ShortStuff sized hammock for my kiddo. Bummer.

Make sure you read over the posting. You may not be able to get it back. But you can always put in a Paypal dispute if you used it.

So sorry to hear about your troubles, Hooch. I know you're disappointed.

Hopefully you can get it straightened out soon and be on your way again. In the meantime, you might want to check out sales at some of the sewing stores or Target, etc.

Was that in any of the fine print on ebay? If you still think you got a good deal, you could probibly pick one used from a repair place pretty cheap.

BTW, last time I was down your way I saw some untreated 1.9 at the walmart off of exit 92 or 94 on US 64 before RRG. Might be worth a look if you are going hiking.

    Thumbs up

Ok, sometimes things just have a way of working out. The seller of the sewing machine I bought on ebay won't give me a power cord, he says the auction clearly states that the foot pedal isn't included. How was I to know that the foot pedal and power cord are one? So no luck there. Anyway, after going to drop Short Stuff off at his Mom's, I mentioned something about it to her and she said that she still had an old sewing machine that she has never used and offered it to me free of charge. Not bad for an ex-wife. Anyway, it's an older 70's model Brother that appears to be in excellent shape, but she says the tension needs adjusting. I hope that's easily accomplished. So I am now the proud and very happy owner of a sewing machine. Anyone want to take the one without a cord off my hands for free? Just pay shipping and it's yours.

That's what I understand and from what I've read the older machines are supposed to be better made and last longer. I'm anxious to see how well it works.
