Can I remove the continuous loop?

I just got in a hammock from Simply Light Designs with whoopie suspension. It came with a continuous loop, that I connected to the whoopie slings with a carabiner. Couldn't I just run the whoopie sling through the end of the hammock, and keep from using that carabiner?

Yes, you can run the whoppie through the end. That's what I would do. Some folks don't like having their suspension permanently attached to their hammock especially if it's wet. That's probably why they give you the detachable option. If I camp in the rain or dampness, I always hang my hammock up when I get home to let it thoroughly dry anyway.

How will you attach your whoopie to your tree straps?

Be sure to attach the fixed eye end of the Whoopie to the hammock. The adjustable end of the Whoopie should go to the tree strap.

I did loop the fixed eye through the hammock, and going to hook the whoopie to tree straps using carabiners. Now I understand the whoopies. lol

But now you dont have a water break and when it rains the water will run right down the whoopie and into your hammock,,, heck of a way to wake up at 3 am., imo you need a break coser to the hammock.

IMO it's way easier to just tie on a small piece of 3mm line to the whoopie as a water break. Having a whole carabiner just for a water break is way overkill (and doesn't always work if it wants to sit flat instead of upright)

Tried that and the string sometimes gets lost or is overwhelmed by a down pour,, besides a Dutch biner is light wieght and multi functional
Or even better yet a pair of whoopie hooks, very light and work like a charm

never had an issue with water running down a whoopie sling the tail end sends it to the ground or gets diverted by tarp doors if somehow water travels past it. I guess that is the difference between using straps that lay flat and angled into the second part of your suspension or having tree huggers that connect to a carabiner with less flat space from the tree to collect water and connecting to a whoopie sling.
