    Question WI>KMSF-SU>IAT>Which Weekend Poll

Here is the date poll asked for in this thread:
    https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...31#post1472531

Polls on HF allow up to ten options so I put up the next ten weekends one or more shelter is available in the Kettle Moraine State Forest - Southern Unit aka South Kettles. I set the poll to allow people to make multiple selections so y'all can vote for every weekend that you might attend.

    Happy Trails!

Question Who's up for hiking the KMSF-SU portion of the IAT this summer?

If my memory serves me correctly, it was a few years ago that I stopped there to look, the state forest headquarters has a photo album of 32 milers. They also award a patch to those that hike the entire 32 miles in the area. I could be wrong, and probably am, but I remember this from when I hiked from the trailhead on Hwy 12 to the parking area on Hwy 67 South of Hwy ZZ.

So my vote goes for a thru hike of the area, quite doable on a 3 day weekend I would think.
There are several weekends with all three shelters available for such a trek. Of those ten weekends, Labor Day weekend would allow us the most time with 3-1/2 days (Friday afternoon/evening, Saturday, Sunday and Monday).

Who's up for hiking the KMSF-SU portion of the IAT this summer?

Who's up for hiking the KMSF-NU portion of the IAT this winter or next summer?

Sounds like Daveysnowis and I are hiking the IAT from the Ranger Station (Forest Headquarters) in KMSF-SU to Whitewater lake. Hanging at shelter #2 on Friday July 31st and shelter #3 on Saturday August 1st.

Anyone else tagging along? Anyone hanging at the shelters with us?

What other weekends are people heading out to the South Kettles? If you don't have your reservations in for the shelters on the IAT at least a month ahead of time, you are probably out of luck. Earlier is always better. Therefore the time to plan, and take action, is now.

Don't be shy. We won't hold you to the weekends you vote for. Just looking for which weekends garner the most interest so we can decide when to reserve shelters.

Willing to try the three day schedule, Shelter 2 Friday,
Shelter 3 Saturday, finish Sunday by hiking to Whitewater Lake. That would be a first for me. (age 66).
