Want the ideal 30 degree "hangle"?
It would be great if there were a simple rule like the "3-4-5 triangle" worked but it gets you to about 37 degrees.
I figured out that you can use a similarly simple rule and just use a "2.3-4-5 triangle"
Half of your typical 10' long hammock is "5" or the hypoteneuse and "4" will be the horizontal. The "2.3" will be the vertical sag.
E.g.
If your two trees are thus 16' apart, scaling the "2.3-4-5" triangle by 2 to get your 30 degree hang (with your 10' long hammock) will put your suspension line (2 x 2.3') = 4.6' up the tree trunk and put the bottom of your hammock right on the ground.Shift the suspension up the tree trunk further to dial in your desired hang height
