Cool NC > 2015 Hot Springs Autumn Hang > September 18th -19th -20th, Hot Springs, NC

That's right folks, Hangin Buritto, Carolinas Backpacker and Loki have decided to host yet another Hot Springs hang.

This is a family-friendly, newbie friendly, come-one come-all, car-camping event right next to some of the best Appalachian Trail hiking in the area, a hiker-friendly town, and some of the best white-water in the southeast.

Camp central for the weekend will be the campfire and large group tarp at site #413.

Please bring hammock stands if you have them--someone else may need one. If you have folding camp chairs, bring them.

Everyone will be responsible for his or her own transportation, gear, behavior, Site rentals and campsite fees.

Show up anytime and leave anytime, but don't miss our free Saturday evening hot dog cookout! This is now a tradition at each Hot Springs campout--it's not to be missed! Otherwise, everyone will be responsible for his or her own meals.
Annnndd-d there are at least 5 restaurants within a short easy walk - Boo-yeah!

The official dates are from Friday September 18th through Sunday September 20th.

This is world-class, riverside, car camping folks - right on the Appalachian Trail in the Hiker-friendly town of Hot Springs, NC, next to the French Broad River

In keeping with tradition, there'll be a Saturday night hot dog roast, we'll put up a spreadsheet for folks to sign up and bring things (See Below).

The usual site has been secured,(#413), This will be the site for our group activities; Morning coffee Kvetch, Dutch-oven cooking, fireside chats, Gear lore, Ladderball, general Lollygagging, and our famous Saturday Night Hot Dog Supper. Hiking, fly-fishing, kayaking/canoeing are available all day (bring your gear or rent from local outfitters),

and of course....big campfires every night. Did I mention Shuttle Fires ??

Tent sites, RV sites, and cabins ! Cabins are available to rent, just ask the campground people when you call.

So, right now, before all the other good campsites are reserved, it's a good idea to call up the Hot Springs campground and reserve one for yourself and your friends, 828-622-7676. Did I mention... right now ?? http://nchotsprings.com/nc-hot-springs-resort-lodging/

I can remember Loki talking about this one at the Smoked Butt Hang. Too early to commit, but sounds like a great time.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.
