Bug net for tie outs ????

Some hammocks have tie outs and no integrated bug net like the Simply light designs tree runner. It is nice to have an integrated bug net but some don't like the extra weight when a bug net is not needed such as winter or fall.

Is there a bug net design that allows for the use of tie outs??? I could DIY one but I just want to know if one already exists.

Have you tried the hammock without using the tie-outs? They simply are not needed.

Don't know of any; but you could probably attach tie-outs to your bug sock with something like Dutch's clip on tarp pull outs. However, why not use a dedicated no-net hammock for the times you don't want/need the bug net of your integrated hammock? Don't tell me you only have one hammock

Just about any separate bug net will not need tie outs. The weight of the net below the hammock will keep it snug from the ridgeline and off your face. If it doesn't, just add a rock pocket in the appropriate spot to do so.

I think the OP is looking for a bug net that allows the use of hammock tie-outs; not tieouts for the bugnet itself.

    I agree. Hammocks don't need tie-outs.

That is correct. I want to use the tie outs of the hammock. The hammock has tie out to improve comfort.

I don't have the hammock yet but I want to try to use the tie outs.

Unfortunately I have been bitten by the hammock bug. No cure in sight.

Ah, so obvious upon rereading. The half nets would work, provided a top and bottom quilts are there, otherwise three possible mods occur to me. 1, sew in a cinch pass through at the spot, or . 2, sew two loops of webbing onto the netting, one in and one out, and tie out there. 3, sew on a patch and install an eyelet sized to tie out cord.

I would try the hammock when you get it, first using the tie-outs, then without, and see if you actually experience any increase in comfort, before you start doing a whole lot of modification elsewhere.

If you mod the net to work with tie-outs, and decide, like many not to use them, then you have a bug net with holes in it, unless you've designed it with that in mind as well.

Which hammock is it? The XLC? The only hammocks I know that need tie-outs are the one too unstable to work well without them. Kammock comes to mind.
