I have not done a group hang before. I hope that this will be the first one. I plan on doing a test hang this weekend at the site if all goes as planned.

Sorry to disappoint FLoridahanger, but I haven't got the okay to take off from work on 7/19. But I will be there by dark that night! If I'm late, I'll hike in on the short trek from the West! Like Great White, I see no reason to head off to the springs on Saturday, I'd prefer a day in the pond and good conversation.

O-Boy, I just assumed you meant Friday, July 17 and not the 19 Sunday.

The Hidden Pond Short is a quick trip from 30-60 min, give or take. It could be a little longer if there are blow downs or the trail a little concealed from overgrowth. Some spots were a little tricky last year, but not too bad at all.

I went this way in the rain last year and had to find a few spots crossing the old "lake beds". I may come in this way again to try and clear the path, just in case you come at night.

Mark, I hope you can make the group hang. If you need help with your hammock, a group hang can go a long way in helping you dial it in.

Lilricky, It sure would be great to see you on this side of the Gulf, again. Bring some Texans, they know our kind of temps.

The 3 of us have this in our plans. We just got back from 8 days on the AT and summer camp in Georgia. The need to be with friends is high. We do miss our extended family. We will likely be heading in from hidden pond again. I'll see if I can wrangle up a few more suckers to brave the heat with us.
