    Hi from Michigan

I recently bought a Clark NX-270 to hang vs using tents. Been backpacking in Michigan for about 4 years ... All in the lower-peninsula. I like the concept of using a hammock vs. tent and will test it out first hand. Been looking at UGQ for an under-quilt ... But not sure if I should get one rated for 0 degrees thinking I could use it year around here in MI. I love Winter backpacking in MI, but backpack most months of the year with exception of June and part of July. Anyhow, this sites appears to be full of useful info, and helpful people.

Welcome from Ann Arbor! I have a Clark also and I've got a 20 degree underquilt from Hammock Gear and another from JacksRBetter; both are 3/4 length and work quite well for 3 seasons. I have a 0º overstuffed full length Zeppelin Underquilt from our friend Paul (sr1355 above) that has kept me warm down to -7º thus far.

Welcome from Muskegon. I just got a 20 degree underquilt from UGQ, used it this past weekend and I am very happy with it. They have great customer service as well!

    Welcome, from Florida.

Get out in Summer as well. A hammock can cool you down way better than any tent. And no UQ needed above ~70*F for most.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
