ME > Moosehead Lake Hike, Paddle, & Hang > July 3-5

I'm thinking of taking a trip up to Moosehead lake in Maine for 4th of July weekend and camping on one of the islands. There are quite a few authorized sites throughout the lake but they are first come first serve. I have off Friday - Sunday so i was going to drive up thursday right after work to hopefully be early and get a site. There seems to be some good hiking, paddling and sites in the area and looks like it'd be a fun weekend.

If you want to join, let me know and we can work out more details. If any of you have any good information about the area i'd love to hear it too.

CHANGE OF PLANS:
Heading to the White Mountains instead for a long hike to knock out some more 4000 footers.

Nice, that sounds wicked awesome. too bad it's a seven hour drive for me. I'm pretty sure gr8tbrew and I are heading to the Whites that weekend so if Moosehead doesn't work out you should join us.
