Unfortunately, I am unable to make this particular weekend. I wish I could as i have only day hiked in this area. I will do a review of Wildcat as my brother-in-law and I are hiking it July 24th -26th. I've done this whole trail in 1 day before but it will be fun to break it into smaller pieces and enjoy the scenery.

I wouldn't mind hitting Zaleski on the weekend of July 11th or 25th, but the 18th doesn't work for me. I'll keep an eye on this thread to see what gets finalized.

I have wanted to do the Archers Fork. Never been to Mohican, are the hiking trails there decent? Shawnee is always a good time out.

I'd be willing to hit Archer's Fork later on this summer, PM me if you're interested. Looks like we have 2, possible 3 set for Zaleski on the 17th. This is my first trip since joining this forum, so I'd love to see more folk come out and meet up.

There are several trails in the State Forest/State Park and all are enjoyable and are 2-4 miles in length except the Mountain Bike Trail which is quite a bit longer and the most challenging. My favorites are the Hemlock Gorge Trail which runs along the Clear Fork River and the Lyons Falls Trail which leads to the Big & Little Lyons Falls and then up to the dam and back to the Covered Bridge. The downside of the Lyons Falls Trail this time of year are the falls are usually dry. On the other hand we've had so much rain lately that they be running.

There are trail maps available at the office for Campground A. One is free and the other costs around $4 I think. I'd spend the $4 if you choose to get a map there. BackpackOhio.com has the best trail maps for Mohican and it also includes a full description of the 10 Park & Pack camping sites which are for backpackers and are free to use. All of the sites are good except Site 7 which is near an oil pump & tanks.

Also, here's a link to my Gallery which contains a bunch of pictures from Mohican.

Sorry, July is just filled up for me. Pretty typical to find little response to hangs during the summer months because everyone is so busy with their own family trips. I will keep my eyes peeled for a fall hang.

At this time I have to back out of this trip. I was in a car accident and my jeep was totaled. I'm alright but the insurance company is taking forever getting me the check. If I get the check and get a car then I might make it. After all this I need a weekend in the woods.

Sorry to hear that Jlink. If something happened to my JK, I'd be heartbroken.....Maybe next time. I'm probably still going, so if anyone has some time to get out this weekend, let me know. I'm not much of a talker, but a great listener! Also, I'm open to a change in sites if someone has a preference. I just want to get away from things and relax a bit.

Good news I found a car. Bad news I still can't make it. Might do something next weekend, I post if I do. There is still August I hope it stays a cool summer.
