Getting Closer, I understand 10 days is hard to work into the schedule, maybe a few folks can just do a few days.

Just saw this. Gotta run it by the bosses (home and work) but I hope to be able to join you for at least part of the trip. News @ 11. What time would we be meeting, and where? (at the FS road, the plaque, etc)?

Hope people have been able to find some time and firm up plans. I am a go, and am looking forward to this. Hope to see a few of you guys there.
I am a go as well, time off approved. I'm up for anything really. Just looking to spend time in the woods with people who like to spend time in the woods.
I plan to join the hike on the 4th. Will need to try to guess where you will be on the night of the 3rd.
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.
Be nice to see ya again Charles.
We can exchange #s and I can try and call ya some time on the 3rd.
I'm thinking at a reasonable pace somewhere around woodys gap that would be 7 miles a day
Not really sure what time will get started on the 1st.

Ok so it's getting close any thoughts on when where to meet?
Park at dicks creek gap get a shuttle to Springer? I have been in contact with some shuttle services but space is limited.
Does anyone want to car pool etc.
How many confirmed?

A buddy and I are planning to start with you, assuming there's room / compatible hiking speed, etc. I'd be returning home after a few days though, so my buddy and/or I will want to stage one of our cars somewhere sensible for that. Maybe Neels Gap?
My personal caveat is that I'm a slow hiker. I hike for fun, not to test myself or anything of the sort. I'm a middle-aged overweight guy who is good for 1-2 mph or thereabouts, and lots of lollygagging, taking in the view, and such. If that's not a good match for this trip, no worries at all, HYOH, just let me know. Even then, I may still start at the same time just to say "hi" and then hike at my own pace to my car. If it does work with the team, it will be great to have the company. Either way, looking forward to it!

Sounds good I think the mindset so far is No hurry No worries:-)
A pace of 6 to 7 miles a day should get us to dicks gap in 10 days if we get there early fine.
So I guess you two will want to meet at springer so that's great. We should try to narrow down a time.
One that will accommodate everyone.
