    Tadpole

So last week I was at scout camp as a assistant scout master helping take care of the 32 boys from our troop that went. Slept under my tadpole the entire week. But on Thursday night we had a severe thunderstorm warning with straight line winds to exceed 40mph. I was going to sleep in one of the canvas tents that the camp provides but decided to stick it out in the hammock. The tadpole did great I never got wet what so ever and it stormed and rained for about 3 hours. We got over 3 inches of rain and several times I had to unzip my big net and put my are out to stop my hammock from swaying so much. Great tarp that stood up to a lot of rain and wind.
We're all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that's all.

A while ago I collected a few comments from Tadpole owners:

I have had mine for almost a year now and took it out of the stuff sack and hung it in Maine for 2 1/2 months last summer. The first month was almost daily rains with one storm the worst I had experienced in 6 summers in Maine. The Tadpole never leaked a drop and the only time it got close to damp was in one of those heavy fogs up there...

My first ever tarp was the tadpole and although I've since bought other tarps I always find myself coming back to the tadpole. Down here in Louisiana, we get some pretty serious rain. Especially in summer, not counting hurricanes. That said when hurricane Isaac came through a buddy and me decided to camp during the storm. I used my tadpole and it withstood upwards of 18 hours of continuos rain. No leakage. I was and still am thoroughly impressed. It's by far my go to tarp. Even in the winter months.

I love my Tadpole so much that it usually beats my cuben tarp out of my pack. It's just so simple and perfect. Maybe I should have one made in cuben, the best of both worlds!

I got caught in a downpour and torrential rains last weekend under my tadpole. I wish I had had the pullouts because the tarp was blowing against me in the 30-40 mph wind. But I stayed completely dry. Rain gauge at the house close to where I was staying showed 7" for the night.

Tadpole is a great tarp. I have had it in some extreme winds/rain and stayed high and dry. As for pull outs, I chose not to go with them... In hindsight I believe I would have gone with them sewn-in right from Marty.

I just got my summer series quilts from Marty & I love them. As soon as I can get the funds together I will be ordering mine. Glad to see they work as good,if not better than advertised.

Don't frett! Just because you didn't order the sewn pull outs.

Dutch sells Tato Gear Adjustable Tarp Pull Outs.

Best $8.50 you can spend. Killer in high winds and heavy rain. Both used on the same side in porch mod really opens things up in a fair weather set up.

If I decide I need more pull outs I will just sew them on.

That's certainly a choice. What happens when you'd like to move them around, sew moar?

I have the big daddy, which is a bit longer on the sides. I love this tarp. I just had it through a 14 hour rain that was around 4in of rain. No sideways winds. And i had it in porch mode. Everything was nice and dry. I also have the tato gear pull outs, I find them super handy, I always use them to pull the tarp the way I want it.

    I'd rather be hanging.
