It's maintained by the state, and it's frequently down. Watoga is the only state park that doesn't yet have on-line booking for cabins and camping. This is the modern day equivalent of "rustic". There's info at these links, which sometimes work when the main page doesn't.

This place looks great !!! Why did they move the MAHHA from here to Pine Grove ? It is a 8hr ride for me to WV .

Crash reported that his replacement at work had to cancel, so he can't come. He'll bike the Greenbrier River Trail another time. I'm arranging with the park staff to have firewood there for us. A nice warm fire in the mornings and evenings will be welcome. I'll have charcoal for cooking hot dogs, too. I now expect to be there Friday morning.

Hey there I really hope you can make it. This is a AWESOME did I say AWESOME campground and the leaves should be changed. It has nice bathrooms with hot showers and the river runs right next to the campground if you wanna fish. There are also nice trails to hike. I would have to say you wouldnt regret the drive.

MAHHA originally started out at Gathland State Park in Maryland. We had a fall and spring hang there each year. Then 2Questions suggested moving the spring hang to Pine Grove as a change of pace and we were all for that. Our campsite at Gathland was on the AT and MAHHA became too big for the site. So WV arranged for the Fall Hang to go to Watoga while we were trying to figure out a place large enough, cheap enough, and closer to the original Gathland site.

As beautiful as Watoga is, it's too far for most of the original attendees tto drive to. So Dutch said he would start hosting the Fall MAHHA and it went up to Pine Grove as well, where we are always treated well by the park.

I want to say the very first Fall MAHHA was 2007?????
