I'm guessing you'd only have one set of stuff fur the cross bar but two tripod sets.

I already have the 2x2 set. Will there be an option to just get the conduit tripods?

There is a one or the other or both option, why conduit over wood?

Lighter, smaller? I figured with 2x2" square I could always hammer form a pipe into a square if needed, and any small 2-4" trees I cut could be hacked and chopped to fit a 2x2 square but then again if I have trees I probably wouldn't be needed this item anyway lol.

My main thought is that I like wood for inside the house and metal outside in the dirt and mud. I put rubber bumpers on the bottom of my 2x2s to not scratch the wood floor and don't want to take them outside.
