Camping near water and LNT principles

I have seen lots of pics of hammocks set up right next to water. Maybe the photo is misleading, but the hammocks usually look closer than 200' from the water. Do Leave No Trace principles not apply since the hammock is suspended? I would think that repeated walking in the area would be just as damaging. I am fairly new to backpacking and just ordered my first hammock, so I thought I would ask the experts.

Many of the photos might be in established campsites, or designated sites. LNT principles encourage the use of already established sites so as to not create more impact elsewhere. In general the 200' guideline is to limit impact and to move it away from the trail and water so that a new site is not created. Of course local laws and land management regulations supercede these principles. Some management areas prohibit making camp anywhere except designated sites for example.

...What DuctTape said. And, a lot of folks set up creekside just for lunch and/or a nap.
