    NY -> ADK Region -> 17-19 July

    I'm looking for a fishing/hanging partner for next weekend, July 17-19. Ideally we could hike in on Friday evening, setup camp and fish all day Saturday. Then either hike out Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning. If Friday is a no-go, we could hike in early Saturday, fish the rest of the day and leave on Sunday. I'd like to find something off the beaten path that isn't easily accessible to boats. Maybe 3-5 mile hike in? I'm new to NY (Fort Drum) so I don't have a good handle on all the trout fishing spots, so I'm open to suggestions.

    I'm also open to throwing a dart at the map of the Adirondacks and exploring some new ground. Even if you can't make the trip, any suggestions for fishing spots that would be what I'm looking for?

    Thanks in advance!

    Can't make the weekend. We just got back from Eagle Bay NY. My father-in-law has a camp on Fourth Lake. We camped out one night at Remson Falls. Its off on 28. You can actually drive within a half mile of the camp site. We hiked in at around 3.8. Nice walk in. Beautiful water. We didn't drop a line but saw a otter and a bear. I'm going to try and attach a couple of pictures. If you go and get to the end of the trail they have a new picnic table with a huge firepit. Go past it and there is another site. The picnic table is about wore out but the site is awesome. We hung three hammocks there with no problems whatever. The trail head in in Mckeever. Old Forge has a pretty nice outdoor store. Can't remember the name. Mountainman?? Have about a 100 kayaks outside of the store thou. Good products, nice staff but can be pricey. I like to go in and look around.

    Would love to but I just got back from 5 days on Saranac Lake. There is a boat launch on RT 3, RT3a goes right through Ft Drum... I had good luck with small mouth 1- 3-4 lb, bunch of smaller ones and a couple of large perch 14-16" range.

    I'm headed to the High Falls Loop trail near Wanakena on Friday afternoon. I'll post pics of the trail and (hopefully) some trout!
