    Hoboroll for hammock use?

Been thinking about a snakeskin/bishop bag/compression sack that allows me to have the quilt/underquilt ready setup hammock during setup/takedown for quickness/laziness.
An idea I got from arctic bedding, thats a bag with your pad and sleeping readily strapped on the pulk.

Do you think this will work as its basicly a bishop bag with compression straps?

I've been looking at this Granite Gear bag for quite some time for the same purpose.

Others have suggested the Sea to Summit version. I think both would work.

    Either would work very well.

I use an oversized double end stuff sack. I leave my uq on the hammock and shove them both in. Look up 'lazy slug tube' , it's like tarp skins for a hammock, that'll fit both quilts and your hammock.

@fallkniven What about compression? Or is the compression just shoving it all in the bottom of your pack?

Yes compression is just shoving in pack, need to leave ends open a lil bit to push out air but doable, just like stuffing your 1 u it's into a compactor bag inside your pack
It's not the boulders that throw us off balance, it's the pebbles beneath our feet

most of the time. Sometimes I'll throw it in a lightweight drybag, squish it down and seal it up. That works too.

I'd recommend against trying to use the Gobi Gear Hoboroll for backpacking if compression and utility is important to you. See my comments on it in another thread here.

I would think that a bishop sack with the hobo-roll style compression would be really effective. I have one of the sea-to-summit e-vent bags, and it works really well to let the air out. But there are plenty of other ways to make a vent work. they just might not be as fully waterproof.

Thought I would provide an update on the Hobo roll. Thus far I really like it. Because it has 5 compartments, I can keep my tarp separate from my hammock. My hobo roll currently holds: WBBB XLC, Kelty 12, Klymit insulated static v lite pad, straps and stakes
