Gobi Gear HoboRoll for hammock and gear

Looks like a compartmentalized Bishop's bag. Has anyone used it?

It's been discussed, don't think anyone here found it practical enough to buy.

I've seen it on the Mass drop and at that price I might be willing to take a flyer on it and see how it goes for use. Still mulling it over. Not completely sure it will work with my style of packing my pack but certainly a neat concept. Go for it and do a review. For less than $30 it would be worth it....maybe.

    I've got one.

    Pros:
It looks nice and it is very light for what it is. It fits quite a lot of stuff inside as long as the items are small enough to fit in the compartments. A built in zippered stuff sack packs the hoboroll down to the size of a baseball when not in use, and the pouch doubles as a zippered inside pocket when the bag is in use.

    Cons:
Those compartments inside it really restrict how useful it is for me. Ergo, it's biggest selling point and gimmick is its biggest limitation. Five identical pie wedge compartments limits your options. For instance, despite being a good sized duffel a full sized iPad won't fit in one of the pie wedge compartments without deforming it, stressing the seams, and a whole lot of elbow grease. The compression straps are a bit fussy. Because it has drawstrings on both ends you're never wholly confident your heavier or smaller stuff won't fall out when you are lugging it around. You also can't tell one side from the other without opening it up or marking one side.

Wouldn't buy it again unless they reworked the compartments to be more flexible.
