Intro from WA by way of a trip report...

Hi, hangers. I've been looking around on here for a little while now. I've been able to learn quite a bit, so I'd like to say thanks. You guys are generous with your info.

My brother from another mother is an active poster on here (mumbles). He and I spend tons of time camping with our families, and while hunting or fishing. For a few years now, I've been giving him a hard time about how geeked out he was with all of his hammock gear. A few weeks ago, I finally gave his hammock a try. That was that. The next day, I was online ordering a WBRR. It arrived 3 weeks ago. I've put 10 nights in it so far. Most while camping, and a few in the yard. I sleep out 30-40 nights a year, and I have never been so comfortable in the woods. I joked to my buddy that he is a hammock evangelist. As my kid puts it, I guess I'm an acolyte now.

On with the trip, and thanks for reading.......

It's pretty hot here in western WA, so we headed for the coast to camp on a beach section of the Olympic National Park.

My oldest and I always enjoy spending time together outside...

Ed is generally unlikable, but my kid seems to think he's OK....

The Olympic Peninsula is my favorite place in the world....

Most of my camping revolves around fishing and hunting trips. I love spending my time doing those things, but it's nice to have a chill trip. We did a bunch of this....

    and this....

But I must admit, I did a ton of this, and loved every minute of it....

All in all, the trip rated 3 thumbs up...

    C-YA!!!

You're related to mumbles and admitted it? Oh my, that 1 strike against you, haha
All kidding aside you are one lucky guy to have someone like mumbles to help you wade thru all the hammock related gear
and get you to nirvana between the tree's asap.
This has been one of the best intro threads I have ever read. Welcome to the forum you guys.

Related not by blood, but by choice. I have nobody to blame but myself...

All kidding aside, Ed has cut my learning curve drastically. And sold me a pile of gear. And loaned my kids some gear on trips. And showed me a ton of tricks. And shared in my hammock stoke. I guess he's not that bad of a guy after all.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the strength to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
