    Quilt add-on ideas?

So I will soon be starting on a 3.6 CS UQ with a 2.5 CS TQ.

They are both going to be plain 1.1 nylon ripstop that I already have, and the CS is in the mail (Thanks Dutch!!)
They are going to be pretty massive. I am 6'6" and I want full coverage.

I have been putting cinch cords on my TQs to close/open the foot box, and thought I might put a little velcro pocket to hold the extra cord while its pulled tight.
That got me thinking. What else can I add to my TQ or UQ to give it that little extra?

I know I do not want a wearable quilt. Im sure they are great, but I would never use them that way.

anyway, you guys have awesome ideas and I want to hear some!!

I would put a mitten hook or something like that on the foot box, that way you will be able to secure the foot of your quilt so it does not slide out of your hammock or get wadded up. Right or left shoulder attachment would be helpful.

I like the ideas! and thanks for the link! maybe I should just line the entire TQ with pockets.

I was also thinking about somehow making both the TQ and the UQ somehow able to be added to. Instead of making an entirely separate winter quilt just make another layer that I can add using the same suspension for the UQ. Anyone with experience with this? or Ideas on how to connect them? I am not making the second layer right now, but want to make sure I have any hardware necessary to just attach the second layer when its made.

I received a quilt that had extra elongated diamond shaped material on either side of the top of the quilt to help wrap it under you at your shoulders.

Layering quilt's has been done, but usually as a stopgap for not having the proper equipment.

If you wanted to design for this, while you may save money on materials making what I assume would be two equally sized quilt's, you pay the penalty for having to carry twice the amount of shell material, for the same warmth. Then you also have to ensure that your setup doesn't introduce air gaps between the quilt's, but also doesn't compress the quilt above it.

At the end of the day, it's smarter just to make quilts for the temps you plan to be out in.

Thats kind of why I want to do it this way. I don't plan on much winter camping. So my thought was make one summer weight set and one 3 season set, and have them able to easily connect and act as winter quilts.
