I just got my first hammock in the mail today from Dutch. I'm interested in attending a group hang. FYI I'm normally a weekday camper & need advance time to get weekends free.
Hi guys, We had a couple small group meet and greet hangs eariler this year up at White Ranch. Usually by now we have had one big group hang but this years weather has been the worst.
Even Waterton Canyon Section 1 of the Colorado trail has been closed for over 4 weeks do to flash flood warning. I've just had no desire to hike or stand around in the rain and you know the fishing will really suck.
I was hoping to put something together mid to late August, if this rain will ever let up, up in Nederland Co. @ Left Hand Res. Something like 3 days 2 nights with some fishing, canoeing, day hikes and hangin of course.
To get to the Res one needs a high clearance vehicle and there is a 1/4 mile hike to the primitave camping areas. If you only have a car it would be a 2 mile hike in from the pavement.
Here are some picts of the area.

That sounds amazing! I've heard a lot of campers rave about Brainard Lake/Lefthand Reservoir. I'll definitely keep my eye out if you plan a get together. I do have a Yellowstone trip planned for late August, so I might not be able to attend.
I'll be doing a backpacking trip in CO around August ~17 - ~25. Probably Maroon Bells but still deciding. I'd love some company, or suggestions where else I might go.
I'll keep my eyes peeled for a get together too.
Until this daily rain lets up I am having a very hard time getting pumped to head to the mtns. I know the streams and lake will be high and muddy.
If I was to pick a time not knowing the weather and giving the streams and lakes time to settle it would be August 20st thru the 24th.
I'm retired so I would go up a few days early to get the primitive camp sites selected, firewood collected, and locate where the fish are biting and on what bait.
So for now lets just toss that time frame out there.
Watching this thread as well!
I'm watching this!! I will would love to get out again!
