What does your work space look like?

Over the years my gear station has evolved considerably. Currently, my gear making station is a 2'6" x 5' desk with two computer monitors on a pole mount in the back. I've been doing so much there lately, but I am looking to improve my work area.

Before I do, I'd like to see what others are doing, what is working for you, what isn't.

I'll post pictures of mine when I get home from work tonight.

Sorry, not much help. I'm currently thinking up how to create a better dedicated space for all this, so I'm interested to see the reply's.

Sometimes the garage is a motorcycle shop, sometimes it's a hammock shop.

My work area is my dining room table with a sewing machine and various notions on it. Also my living room or extra bedroom floor with a large cutting mat.

Workspace is a little messy, recently seems to be a project every night.

It's been the same for me for about a month now. I've been spending around an hour per night working on something.

You have a decent amount of space and equipment though. I like the idea of a folding table that can be set up and taken down.

I've tried the garage, but this time of year it's too hot on there and I have too many other "household" projects going on in there.

I am fortunate that my better half lets me use a portion of the living room for projects. I love having the dedicated machine cabinet as it really helps with managing the large pieces of fabric. It's also really nice to have the drawers for storing all the little things you need to keep close at hand but out of the way. The table on the right with the brown table cloth is actually an old school drafting table that works really well for layout and cutting smaller pieces. Overall I am pretty happy with this setup but would like to have an even larger table so I don't have to crawl around on the floor when laying out quilts and tarps. Love the thread concept BTW, great idea.

    Great thread!
I was fortunate to be able to take over a guest bedroom. I make quite a bit of gear and was given three sewing machines so I set up three areas. The one thing I wish I had is a large fabric table. Currently I use the dinning room table for that. I have a very understanding wife.

I've told my spousal unit many times we need a house with 5 bedrooms so I can have a gear room for all my possibles. She's getting a remodeled kitchen long before I ever see a house with a gear room. Such are the sacrifices of a devoted husband. (Heavy sigh) One day......one day.....
