Superfly - one tarp to rule them all?

How many of you carry a superfly as your only tarp? I have toyed with the idea of carrying a small diy tarp for fair weather, and a larger tarp for sketchy weather. That said, the idea of being stuck out in an unexpected wind-storm, or being forced to camp on a windy ridge (like I did this weekend) and having your sleep ruined by cutting winds that freeze you out (like it was this weekend), is not a nice one. I have toyed with the idea of carrying a large, mamajamba-sized diy tarp with optional door kit, that I could put on if needed.

All this seems like a lot of tarps, or a lot of extra hassle in setup. I'd rather just have one do-all tarp. The superfly seems to be the best of all worlds. In short, who carries the superfly as your only tarp for 4 seasons? What are your thoughts? Do you find yourself using the doors a lot? Are they a nuisance to deal with when you don't want them? Any input is appreciated!

Edit: does anyone have any experience using a superfly OR edge with the WBBB XLC? IS the 11' ridgeline adequate for the longer hammock?

I use the SuperFly for Winter outings, and the Warbonnet Edge for the rest of my 3 season backpacking trips.
I've gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, make sure I stay here.

I only have one tarp - the Superfly and use it all year. When I'm not using the doors, I just tie them to each other using the 3 ft section of shock cord attached to the corners of each door.

When/IF I have the extra money, I'll buy the Edge to take when I don't need the Superfly.

I'm having difficulty spending $95 to save around 8 oz when my 3 season base weight (no food or water) is already just under 14 lbs....

How many times have you taken the Edge and wished you had more coverage/doors?

I use a Mamajamba and Superfly. I do like the simplicity of the MJ when the weather is good-fair. If I know there will be a decent rain/wind in the forecast I will go with the SF.

I really don't like messing with the door kit on my MJ anymore, but it is an option I have.

I carry and use the Superfly tarp as my one and only Precious, lol, until cuben comes down in price a good bit but that may be years lol. $400 for 6oz savings I'd rather have the $400 bucks at the moment. But then again Miles per oz......

I have been doing some tarp research, including posts in this forum and videos on YouTube. I haven't purchased on yet, but the more I think about it, the more appealing the Superfly looks to me. It's spacious and offers options -- porch mode, integrated doors which are easy to open or close depending on the weather and side pull outs.

Only once, and it was when I used the Edge this past February. Got to 18 degrees with 40 mph wind gusts overnight. I had 1 end covered with my DIY doors, but the SF would have been nice on that trip.

I always bring my Superfly, mainly because it is the only one i got.

But then again, never felt the need to get another tarp, not so far at least
